LOVE LOVE LOVE! I love when I set my mind to something. This is the first crafting project I've made for myself... everything else has been for other people! I can't wait to show it off during my fall photo shoots!
Polka dots and I are like kindred spirits. I love them. And when I saw this fabric in the store a few weeks ago, I snatched it up like a mad woman... it had to be mine. Although I only bought a yard, I wish I bought the entire bolt. Oh the things I could create. :)
What I did create was this awesome child's apron. I think I need one of my own now. Ha! I love the fact that the apron is white so the polka dots can stand out. The little girl who opens this present is going to LOVE it.
Sixty five.... that's the number of fabrics that I offer for my crafting projects. Wow. Actually, now that I think about it, that number is higher because of my holiday fabric collection (christmas trees, spider webs, hearts, shamrocks, etc). That's insane. And certainly more than I would have ever thought that I had! Here they are, in all of their glory.
Note: Fabric #1, #14, and #34 are currently out of stock. Sorry, come back later. Or choose something else. :)
Finding the time to sew is such a struggle for me. Between working a full-time job, pursuing my photography interests, and maintaining a positive relationship with my husband... sewing doesn't come high on the priority list. Which is unfortunate, because nothing is so easy to feel rewarded for than sewing. In five or ten minutes, I can make a cool project. Instant gratification. Sewing is also a coping skill for me. When I'm stressed, I can focus on sewing to clear my head. While other people finding the act of sewing stressful (the patterns, the straight lines, etc) I find it perfect for unwinding. :)
Saturday, I got two packages in the mail. I knew what they were, as I had been stalking our mailbox all week. It was fabric. It is wonderful. I sometimes have to put myself on restriction from buying fabric... and I think it's safe to say that I've reached my quota for the month. :) Sometimes I buy fabric from the store (although in Valdosta the only place to buy fabric is at Hobby Lobby), but for the most part I buy fabric from www.etsy.com. I love Etsy more than imaginable. I love being able to network with other crafters. I love being able to shop from my couch. I love the fact that I can pay for it with Paypal. Hahahaha. Etsy will get its own post soon, but I thought I'd share my favorite fabric shops on Etsy.
Truly, I love fabric. I love being able to take a yard of fabric and turn it into something special. :) I am so lucky that a sewing machine came into my life. Hahaha.
I'm so excited to start the blog adventure for CraftTherapea! I have a blog for my photography (portrait and wedding) but I don't really have any space for my other crafting interests. What a better way to talk about them than on a blog, right?
